The rebuild of Neon Genisis Evangelion is halfway done! I've just finished watching 2.2 You Can (Not) Advance and IT WAS AMAZING! I did not expect them to revamp the charactors and the story. I figured from the first one that it was just the graphics that were redone but man did they surprize me!
(SPOILER ALERT!)
I am a bit upset that they made Auska die piloting the angel unit and not toji but at least the got Shinji out of the way of watching it all happen. and who is this new girl? i don't yet understand her part in the anime. she comes and basically goes all out to die? well anyways, i wanna know why no one question who was piloting unit 2.
but i like how they have redone the characters. Shinji has balls and actually fights Auska is more tormented than normal and Rei actually talks!!!! omg. and Gendo is a tad nicer as well. the little yaoi part with Shinji and kaji was also a nice touch. i cant wait to see what they did with Kwaoru. and Toji's sister lived! and came back! that's great. its not just a depressing anime all the time now. and they got rid of the ridiculously long pauses with music and scenery for ten minuets.
they also explain a lot more in depth (with a few changes) to the story. if you didn't get it before then you will now! a lot of the people i know who hated that anime love the rebuild! go see for yourself! let me know what you think about it!
