Mamoru Hosoda who made The Girl Who Leaped Through Time and Summer Wars (great movie BTW) are coming out with a new hit soon! The distributor TOHO will release the Okami Kodomo No Ame To Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki) film in Japan next July. Though Studio MADHOUSE is credited for it Hosoda made a studio (Studio Chizu) especially for this project. Lets hope this film is just as good, or better than the last two written by Hosoda.
Basically the movie spans 13 years and begins with a 19-year-old female college student (Hana) who encounters and falls in love with a sort of wolf-man.
After marrying the wolf man, she gives birth and raises two half-wolf children — an older sister named Yuki ("snow") who was born on a snowy day, and a younger brother named Ame ("rain") who was born on a rainy day.
The four quietly lived in the corner of a city to conceal the fact that the children are half wolf. However, when the wolf man suddenly dies, Hana decides to move to a rural town far removed from the city.
